Don't let the poor weather conditions kill your mood! Keep your body and mind in shape with a new indoor activity.

We all know how important exercise is in our lives, but rainy days and bad weather can demotivate us from outside. If it’s winter where you live, it becomes even more crucial when the days are short and temperature cold. Before you turn the heating up and get under your favourite blanket, why not choose a new indoor activity to to get you excited about fitness?

There are many indoor activities you can use to get your exercise, and they can all suit different needs.

Make it social

If you like to make your workouts more social, then why not choose a team sport and play with your friends, or get to know new people? Try to organise a regular slot at your local leisure centre and have a game of football, volleyball or handball which is a great way to motivate each other to stay active. Group classes are also another way to meet new people.

Make it competitive

Perhaps you would rather go head to head with someone and really bring out your competitive side. It can be great to start a new sport together with someone, so that you can progress together and bond over a new activity. Why not learn to play badminton with your other half, challenge your best friend to a game of squash, or play your dad at table tennis?

Make it about you

For some people, exercise is something to do alone, to feel the burn in your muscles and see results. If this is you, then why not try a high-intensity activity, such as dancing, rock climbing or boxing. You don’t have to lose all that hard work you put in over the summer, just because it’s cold outside!
